oranges next to hand wrenches

I have always had an affinity for fruit. I grew up with a Navel Orange Tree in my backyard. One day, our neighbor was landscaping his house and decided to get rid of his front yard orange tree in exchange for a concrete driveway. My dad asked if he could have it and he agreed. It now lives with us and has graced us with abundance for over 20 years.

Citrus is amazing for overall health. A single Orange can have more than 100% of your recommended daily amount of vitamin C. I instantly notice the difference in my skin and energy levels when I'm nice and fruited up. The vitamin C in oranges is key to your body in numerous ways.

  1. It protects your cells from damage

  2. Helps your body make collagen, a protein that heals wounds and gives you smoother skin

  3. Makes it easier to absorb iron, another important element for overall health

  4. Helps fight cancer causing free radicals

  5. When you’re feeling anxious, vitamin C can also lower your levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, and your blood pressure.

Aside from the nutritional benefits, oranges can also be utilized as an all natural cleaning agent. Save your orange peels and infuse it in vinegar! This is a great method to use to save money and minimize your exposure to chemicals and toxins present in commercial cleaning products.
